Some of his most prestigious awards, accomplishments, and accolades includes winning more copywriting awards than any other advertising agent working in Brazil from 1990 – 1994, a member of the Ten Most Important Leaders in the Communications Industry in 2009, Company of the Year for his client Johnnie Walker, and 23 Lion awards at the Cannes Film Festival throughout his entire year. He founded Neogama in 1999, acquiring another global advertising agency only three years later, then sold the conglomerate for an undisclosed amount ranging in the tens of millions in 2012 to Publicis Groupe. Who’s he?
Mr. Gama is one of the world’s most successful advertising agents, and widely considered the most important contributor to Brazilian advertising. Initializing his lengthy, fruitful career in 1982 with an Advertising degree from the Armando Alavares Penteado Foundation, a reputable institution in Brazil, he’s since worked all across North America, South America, and Europe.
Alexandre Gama has worked for a number of worldwide advertising groups, including Ogilvy & Mather, Young & Rubicam, and – most notably – his own agency, Neogama. Mr. Gama is the single member of the worldwide corporation Publicis Groupe’s Global Creative Board hailing from Brazil, bringing much prestige and reward to his home nation of Brazil.
