Academy’s School of Fashion at New York Fashion Week

The Academy has now graced the New York Fashion Week for twenty-one years in a row. The New York Fashion Week is a stage where talents and great names make their entry in the fashion world. This year the school held the 21st showcase on 9th September 2017 hosted at the Skylight Clarkson Square. It was in this edition that, 10 graduates took part in two menswear and five womenswear collections of which two were a partnership between them.

There was a lot of diversity at the show among the designers as far as from China and from across the globe. This presented the show with a range of numerous designs, ideas, and forms of inspirations which incorporated silhouettes and unique craftsmanship techniques. It was a big impression especially with the attendance of renowned America’s Next Top Model legend J. Alexander among others in the fashion industry. This was after many hours of class and workshop hours as well as internships and efforts to make it all for the 15 minutes allocated on the runway. The show was done in the presence of fellow fashion designers, potential career mentors, and the whole world via live stream. With this, the school showcased their dreams and visions as to the future of the fashion world.
